Purchased this skil 1/2 drill a few days ago, was pleasantly surprised at how hefty it is, has plenty enough power for this DIY homeowner, For the amount of time I will need this tool I don’t need a high end mechanics drill, I am very satisfied, both with the performance and certainely the Price of this skil drill,

Awesome Power!

Bought this drill about 2 weeks ago to run 3/8×2 1/2 inch screws into my flatbed trailer deck because my Dewalt 3/8 drive with 8 amps didn’t have the nuts to get the job done. When using the Dwalt drill I would have to run the screw down then back it out then run it down again then back it out and so on and so on…. I would wind up breaking screws or bolts off in the predrilled holes and have to start over with a new hole and screw and repeat the process hoping I didn’t break another one. With this drill, I predrill as usual and use VERY little effort or RPM’s and run the screws/bolts down with NO problem at all!!! The variable speed trigger is awesome and as soon as I felt resistance I just squeezed a little more and the screws/bolts eased right on in without breaking ANY of the heads off. I spent more on buying more bolts or screws than I did on buying this drill. My advice or recommendation is…if your having problems with power or throttle/speed control, then get this Skill drill. Super freaking pleased and I didn’t have to pay Dewalt price!!! If there had to be a downside to this drill it’s the fact that it’s not a keyless chuck.

Nice and heavy

I bought this when my old Black and Decker died. It’s good and heavy, which means stable. I am impressed with the power, and the two finger trigger is neat. I’m not in love with the location of the direction and lock on switches, but I’ll live with it. Overall, you can’t beat the value. Another unexpected plus is the ability to use the smallest bits out there. You could chuck up a sewing needle if you wanted to. The thing also puts out enough air to keep you cool as you work!

I’ve only use the drill a little and can say that it seems to be powerful and well balanced.
