Rugged, powerful, effective tool
Rating: 5
I own several 20V max DeWalt drills and the impact driver. Once I started using these for projects around the property, my other wired tools have remained in the cabinet. I wondered if battery-powered tools would have the capability and endurance to function effectively. I wonder no more. There is no job on which any of my DeWalt wireless tools have failed to perform. Since buying my first DeWalt drill And impact driver, I have added the sander, plunge cutter, and sawzall to my tool cabinet. It is SO nice to take these anywhere on the property without having to worry about wires and extension cords. Because there are no wires to tangle and present tripping hazards the job site is safer. Moreover, the battery packs and chargers are generally interchangeable. It is a delight to work with these tools and know they will function and fit the purpose. Furthermore the designs seem ergonomic; no struggling to balance or grip. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Compact
Rating: 5
I have a few other drills, but this one is impressive. I love the compact feel and being able to get into those tight corners. It packs a big punch for being compact. It's also light weight so arm fatigue doesn't set in.

This little guy is just super!
Rating: 5
I didn't know what I was missing until I bought this in a kit (charger, 2 batteries and a zip bag). It's light, powerful and the 2 speed transmission works very well. It has worked well for drilling both very light and thin woods and heavy work. It is so controllable that I've even used it for driving and setting very small screws in thin wood. I love this thing! All of my other drills are now gone. It's a bit early to judge the durability but so far I'm thinking it'll be functioning for a long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Best tool!
Rating: 5
In my line of work, this tool always comes in handy. I use mine everyday at work, and as well as at home. The compact 1/2 drill is lightweight and made well. I love the light feature that is on it for those tough to see spots to drill. I have always used this brand & always will. I will recommend this brand to all. Keep up the good job Dewalt!

The best
Rating: 5
I started with rigid, and graduated to Dewalt, I own every 20 volt tool you make, every clamp, hammer, chalk line, ect, I will never buy any brand other, not even for a tool box, if they made cars or trucks I'd buy that, I do think they should come out with a clothing line because die hards like me would not we're anything else, seriously, if you buy another tool it's not because it's better its because it's 10$ cheaper and you will eventually return it and purchase Dewalt [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Handles Any Job You Can Throw At It
Rating: 5
I love this Drill! It can handle any job you can throw at. I use mine from working on my motorcycle to our kitchen remodel. The battery's last all day regardless of how much I use it. I have mine for awhile now and no signs of it slowing down even with the work I have put it through these last few weeks. When the days come to replace it, it will definitely be with another Dewalt!

Lightweight, convenient to use
Rating: 5
This was my first cordless tool purchase. It has made my home projects so much easier! I would avoid doing them dreading having to get the extension cords out for a small project. Now, I just grab it and I'm ready. The light is handy to help see. I've used it to drill in brick, change door hinges quickly and easily, clean grease spots out of carpet with a brush attachment. Wish I had gotten it sooner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Performance meets precision
Rating: 5
I am consistently impressed with the quality and performance of this drill, I use it everyday with a flexvolt 60v 9mah battery and have never had one issue with this drill or literally any DeWalt products that I own. I am a DeWalt customer for life! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this a couple of moths ago and it was working fine. Now it blows allot of smoke when I use it and it smells like it's burning [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Stopped working the first time!
Rating: 1
I was thrilled to buy this drill: I'd borrowed a friend's, and it was so much better than my old drill. So, I bought one for myself. It's emitting a short high beep and refusing to function. I've put in 18 1/4 in screws, and drilled 18 1/8 holes, all in pine. NOT hard stuff. It's refusing to do anything but beep at me. There are no notes in the manual on this function, either. Brand. Spanking. New. So frustrated.

Happy Mothers Day Indeed!
Rating: 5
This was my gift for mother's Day! I was so excited when I opened the package and found that it was a not only a drill but a Milwaukee hammer drill!!! I am not a professional but we are remodeling our home either to sell or to increase the property value. I have been doing all the work myself and have become quite good at it. This product has made it so much easier. and the hammer drill part I mean to be able to screw into concrete without killing myself is quite a feat thank you family for giving me the best gift ever. Looking forward to my next power tool to add to my ToolBox the M18 Sawzall! Oh and the product runs great, lightweight and 2 battery packs!

Gr8 Tool, I am a DIYER and I got the same results as my 18v
Rating: 5
Quick review : Views from an active DIYer I love the hammer drill , everything that I was able to do with my 18v tools. I got accomplished with the 12v little brothers. Having lightweight tools reduces the load and strain and is sure to add longevity to your work life. More In depth review: Hammer Drill: To switch the Drill/Drive mode you have to rotate the collar past 16, there are rubber molding by the hammer icon on the sides I initially thought that was how you switch the modes, by pressing it. That was not the case. For my needs the Hammer drill worked well. I used it with landscape timber, 2x and I had no problems at all. You can adjust the torque settings and when it reaches its maximum torque you can hear it powering down and it stop altogether. You have to release the trigger and press it again if you want to continue. This is good to ensure you do not over tighten a screw

Gr8 tool, did not feel weak at all
Rating: 5
Quick review : Views from an active DIYer I love the hammer drill everything that I was able to do with my 18v tools. I got accomplished with the 12v little brother. Charge time right out of the box with the included charger was pretty long, 1/2hr for the 2.0ah and 1hr for the 4.0ah. Having lightweight tools reduces the load and strain and is sure to add longevity to your work life. More In depth review: I used this for a few projects I had , I used it with a pocket hole jig, T-Star bits and regular bits. The drill worked fine. Every thing that I was able to do with 18v tools was able to do with these also. I got this because of the expansive M12 line and there are a lot of tools I am interested in. The batteries do not have a fuel gauge but the drill and impact driver did. Once you press the trigger the fuel gauge will stay on for 2 seconds. The LED light stays on for 10 seconds after the trigger is depressed. I found the light to be bright enough to light my work area. This comes with the belt clip attached on the left side but you can remove it and place it on the right side if you are a lefty. To switch the Drill/Drive mode you have to rotate the collar past 16, there are rubber molding by the hammer icon on the sides I initially thought that was how you switch the modes, by pressing it. That was not the case. For my needs the Hammer drill worked well. I used it with landscape timber, 2x and I had no problems at all. great tool, but it's got some draw backs
Rating: 4
I'm in general aviation so I prefer a high rpm, good trigger modulation and light weight/compact. I love this drill, however if you plan to use this drill for a lot of low torque fasteners as I do then you'll find the electronic clutch inferior to a mechanical one and the slow start at lower clutch settings extremely annoying. Also the chuck will spin the whole drive train before you can get a proper clamping force on the bit. Again I'm I general aviation so 90% of the work I ask this drill is a 1/8th inch drill bit in 2117-T4 aluminum. For my work it's great when you have a lot of rivets to drill as I frequently do. But any work that you rely on the clutch, get the older model with a mechanical clutch. I use a bosh ps22 for inspection panel fasteners and the Milwaukee for drilling rivets on all the sheet metal repairs that as an employee of a flight, school is often.

This is a good drill.
Rating: 4
So I work in construction. I have 2 battery hammer drills. This and an old 18v xrp. Now obviously the xrp is more powerful, but this 12v is lightweight, compact, easy to use, and is faster at small 5/36 drilling. I like this drill. The belt clip works better than the old design, and is now my go to drill. But I do have a complaint. The exhaust ports are in the worst spot. With long term drilling there isn't a place to hold it with my other hand without getting burned.

Hmmmm ?

No doubt a great drill but in hard working apps such as brand new sharp drill bits drill in steel and get caught up it stops making it very hard and longer to push the bit through. Good luck
