I have not used it yet, however, when building a deck on the back of my house, I borrowed this same drill to use for securing the decking planks. It worked beautifully and I decided I had to have one in my tool collection. by Blue Eyes on 2019-05-20T17:00:00 Great Corded Drill Rating: 5 I bought this drill a few weeks ago to have in my arsenal in addition to my cordless set of drills for drilling in tougher situations and mixing concrete in 5Gal buckets. It mixed like a dream, got pretty hot as to be expected. The secondary handle makes mixing a dream, and the 10 volts proved helpful over my coworkers older, lower voltage, corded drill. I also used it for drilling some 3/4" holes through a trippled up 2x12 beam and it went through super easy. As it is a more powerful drill it is a bit heavier than the lower voltage drills, but the secondary handle offsets the weight, and I find anytime I'm using a drill for this much power I'm rarely using it one handed anyways. The secondary handle is designed really well, easy to adjust and its locking mechanism is solid. Additionally, as it is more powerful than other drills, it is also more expensive, but I find it worth the money if you need the extra power. Good drill, good design. Almost went with the hammer drill version of this drill (DWD520) but between this drill and my rotary hammer, I found that unnecessary and worth saving the money. It's got plenty of power for basically everything I've used it on and it's very comfortable to hold. Black and Decker nailed the ergonomics with this one. The throttle control is also very easy to control, this makes controlling the chuck a snap. The two speed transmission is helpful for when you need to drive longer screws into wood beams or when you need to drill larger holes. The faster speed is handy for screwing in fasteners quickly. This LDX220 has noticable more amount of torque then the LXD120, I believe the motor on this drill is a little bigger but it could also be because of the two speed transmission the LDX220 has since this really improves the drills torque output. The LDX120 is nice and compact and perfect for smaller jobs. But this LDX220 is great for a wider variety of tasks thanks to it's increased power. One of the things I really like about the LXD120 and 220 is the LED light that's not overly bright. It lights up the work area enough and works fine.
